Sounds a lot, and would be if we got it in one big chunk, or even two or three big chunks, but the truth is, most of that 40-odd hours of time is in bits here and there. (and maybe the 9.6 hours too!!!)

A bit before we go to bed and a bit just as we're waking up.
Bits for washing/dressing.
A bit (or a bite) for breakfast, lunch, tea (or your preferred names for meals)
Bits for travel to/from work (depending on your industry perhaps)
Bits of household admin, bills, fixing or arranging to be fixed.
Bits of family stuff perhaps (dad's taxi?) or just chatting, comparing notes about the day etc.
Bits for getting ready to do something else...

By the time you divide 41 & a bit hours by 6 and then split that less than 7 hours across these bits you have very little left.

Or at least *I* have very little left (and I'm no longer in a 9-5 role... or an 8 hour sleep habit come to that)

If you would like to catch some more of Dr. Platt's messages check out www.brookhills.org He is the senior pastor there and it is also the church I attend. You might have already found the site. But just in case you haven't.

i think it's the things that you and melissa probably DON'T identify with that causes problems with this whole situation...

you didn't quit working and start relying solely on getting freebies to sustain your family's day to day existence, not to mention perks like hair plugs and tummy tucks (um, you didnt have hair plugs last time i saw you, anyway :-)

your wife doesn't divert blame to you while deflecting it from herself ("i was out doing what i was supposed to be doing [traveling around promoting her book]..." while the husband was out being irresponsible.

there are 2 telling quotes from a recent Entertainment Weekly interview they did...

Jon:
''I decided it was to benefit my kids,'' admits Jon. ''I don't like the public life. [But] there's a lot of positives, obviously — the house, an education for our kids, car, whatever. Material things.''

and kate:
''People want to see our kids grow up. At this point I almost feel like I owe it to them. They've seen [our children] since they were 15 months old. And so to stop now would be like 'What ever happened to them?'''

he's beholden to the freebies. she's beholden to the audience. seems like they've decided their marriage is a fair price to pay in exchange. i pray they come to their senses in a hurry...

Is there any question as to why I am so proud of this young man - even if he is my son - and especially because he is my son. Your wisdom and strength is a gift from God and for your entire family. THAT'S MY BOY!!!

Mr. Stuart German,

I admire how you brought every reader on this blog to the same cross road. What will we all do with what Jesus and the Saints of old has said about these times. I to have made similar comments as Pastor Wilkersons, has stated and that with fear and trembling knowing the penalty for deception. My comments are posted at http://www.victoryofthepeople.org.

Now the key comment I share with everyone is Luk 21:36:

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

I recommend we all get a good understand of Luke 21, but verse 36 is special to me in that to be watchful is to be alert, attentive to the instructions of the Lord.

As in the book Amos 3:7, before God does anything he informs his Prophets.

To be prayerful is to declare God's will as well as receive God's will. In being watchful and prayerful you will make yourself worthily of escape from certain aspects of the whirlwinds of these times.

Bottom line with the right ear to hear and the heart to obey you will find yourself in the right place and at the right time for God to blessed and keep you in midst of these storms.

God is still broadcasting His words through prophets today, it's just many are fearful to speak or they are just being ignored as history has shown. So pray for God's prophets to arise and shine so that His glory may be seen.

God bless, Tyrone

Act 11:27 And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.

Act 11:28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Act 11:29 Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.

Act 11:30 This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Steve, Steve Hill and Scott. You speak truth brothers filled with wisdom that comes from God's Holy Word. God bless you all.

Saints, let us hold fast to God and His Word and not put outr trust in man but in the Living God who has already warned us to not fear for the perilous times that must come but be of good cheer knowing He has overcome the world.

Watch and pray as Jesus commanded.
